Revival

May 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Today is the National Day of prayer.  I was praying this morning about several things; my family, the state of New Hampshire, the governor, the president, and others.  Then I started praying for revival.  I believe we are in need of revival in America today.  We have a lot of issues in this country, you know.  We have economic difficulty and turmoil, we have swine flu, and we even have pirates attacking some of our ships.  Revival is a definite need for us today.

As I was praying for revival though, it dawned on me that revival isn’t something that starts in the masses but revival must start in my heart.  Revival isn’t some big…thing…that happens but it’s the result of millions of little things that happen.  Those little things are heart changes in me and in you.  They are results of our hearts being transformed by the renewing of our minds. Revival won’t start with a big bang; revival will start with a little transformation, then another, then another, and then another.

Let’s all pray for revival but let’s realize that revival needs to start by us being transformed by the renewing of our minds.  As we pray for revival, let’s remember to start by praying for ourselves.  Let’s pray that we will be in God’s Word, we will listen as He speaks to us, we will be obedient to His Word and His Holy Spirit, and that revival will start in our hearts.
