Now that’s Crazy Love!

I’m finishing up Francis Chan’s book, Crazy Love, and I’m enjoying every page.  He puts it out there for us to challenge us to love God in a crazy way.  He’s radical about his love for Jesus and wants us to be radical, too.  There are 2 sentences in the book that just won’t let go of me.

One is:  “Something is wrong when our lives make sense to unbelievers.”  The second comes about 10 pages later but seems to be related.  It reads, “What are you doing right now that requires faith?” Ouch!  I think I may be a little too comfortable.  My life might make sense to an unbeliever.  I don’t do things so radically different that others take immediate notice of it.

What am I doing right now that requires faith?  I guess I have a couple of projects going on that require a bit of faith, but my day-to-day life just doesn’t seem to require too much faith.  I don’t stretch myself enough to live out of total faith every day.

Maybe I should adjust a few things.  Maybe I could shift priorities just a bit and live more from faith and less from a place of comfort.

I do recommend this book.  It takes a radical view of loving each other and loving our Lord, Jesus Christ.
